My First Goal: Reach a 2000 FIDE Rating

One of the first steps to improving is to set a clear goal. After reflecting on the purpose of this blog, I’ve decided to set my first concrete target as an Adult Improver: to reach a FIDE rating of 2000.

I’m currently rated 1951, so I believe setting 2000 as a goal is a natural step at this stage — but I know this last stretch may be the toughest. This goal isn’t just about numbers. It’s about what they represent: consistency, focus, lifelong learning, and love for the game.

This blog will be my journal: I’ll share progress, game analysis, mistakes, lessons, emotions, and strategies. I don’t want to walk this path alone — I want to connect with a community of adult players who are also aiming to grow.
